I enjoy Tom Hardy performances very much. His Child 44 movie was fantastic.

My ex-father-in-law served in the British army all through WWII and was at Dunkirk. Still, he used to say that the greatest human calamity he ever witnessed was a quarter inch of snow in Atlanta.

Dunkirk is the reason England needed Lend-Lease.

Really want to see. The line in the trailer was the reluctant son (”it’s not our job”) chastened by the farher about responsibility.

“That said, it was a huge surprise to watch a pc free, honest portrayal of this period of history.”
I dont know if I could watch a show that doesnt have an openly transgendered character, a badazz warrior female beating the carp out of men twice her size, a black female mechanical genius, or a white man capable of making an intelligent decision. It would give me the vapors.

While not by any means an epic bit of historical film-making, one episode of "Last of the Summer Wine" ("Last Post and a Pigeon") prominently featured one of the main characters returning to France and his memories of what happened while retreating to Dunkirk. The man who played that role died before the episode aired, which added a note of poignancy to an overall respectful treatment of a historical subject
at least for a "britcom."
