“(Field of Dreams)”

The singer for my old Milwaukee band, Methyl Ethyl and The Ketones, Amy Madigan, starred in that movie.

“Saudi Arabia buying up farmland in US Southwest”

Thanks for those links. I’m really not liking the idea of the Saudis, or any other nation for that matter, buying up the farmland so they can grow their crops here for export back to their own nation. It gets even worse that the areas they’re buying have unlimited water usage. So while California is forcing farmers in the Central Valley to quit farming due to water shortages, the Saudis are using all the water they want to grow alfalfa to ship back to dairies in SA. Essentially, because they own the land, they are shipping our nation’s water to SA, using as much as they want for free. This needs to end NOW.

Its good publicity for China, on a commodity they have to import regardless whether it comes from the USA, Argentina, Brazil or Canada (and which they likely would have purchased anyway), but all the soybeans in America will hardly make dent in the USA’s $350 billion yearly deficit with China.

If limits are not put on foreign owned farmland, the U.S. could eventually become a serf nation. Our nation eagerly gives away its acreage, natural resources, inventions, and technology to its future detriment.

The best news of all is that the money is not coiming from the taxpayer.
