Melania Trump is approaching her 200th day as First Lady (its on Monday, August 7 to be precise), and in her short time at the White House, one that has been plagued by turmoil and scandal, she has redefined the politics of fashion. She laid the foundation with a classic, Camelot-inspired aesthetic on Inauguration Day, working with Ralph Lauren to create a powder blue jacket and coordinating dress that garnered comparisons to Jackie Kennedys Inauguration outfit by Oleg Cassini.
In codesigning her Inaugural Ball gown with dresser-in-chief Hervé Pierre, Trump seemed to be following Kennedys lead againshe often worked with designer Oleg Cassini on her wardrobe.(snip)
However, Jackie Kennedy isnt the only First Lady who Trump has looked to for inspiration. Trumps conservative, yet opulent approach to dressing mimics that of Nancy Reagan. Like Reagan, Trump has favored strongly tailored pieces in what is known as Nancy Red and she has gravitated towards traditional silhouettes, including the coatdress (Alice Roi and The Row), militaristic suiting (Altuzarra, Karl Lagerfeld, and Michael Kors), and fit-and-flare (Delpozo, Jil Sander, Mary Katrantzou, Simone Rocha) dresses and sheaths (Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino) all familiar to the Fancy Nancy years in the White House. The First Lady has made her brand loyalties clear as well, finding a fan and friend in Stefano Gabbana, whose fanciful floral confections made headlines during the G20 for their extravagant look and cost.(snip)
Where her predecessor Michelle Obama was a savvy and sophisticated shopper, often incorporating price-conscious pieces from brands such as J.Crew and Converse into her daily wardrobe, Trump has stuck to luxury fashion across the board. Even her off-duty wardrobe is filled with high-end designer brands of the most opulent kind,

“she has redefined the politics of fashion.”
Okay?
Ping...
Michelle O.: “Savvy & sophisticated shopper.” LOLOLOLOLOL She wore blankets. Just sayin’.
The moocher “...was a savy and sophisticated shopper...”? I stopped reading there. The moocher was mainly a welfare queen gone large. The Worst Lady had a large staff who kissed her immense a** constantly.
Never thought of Jackie as some icon....and her voice drove me nuts.
Nancy Reagan was simply a quiet, loving wife. What's wrong with that?
I believe these pics are why so many liberal women hate Trump. They are absolutely jealous of his bride. An amazing woman.
“...in her short time at the White House, one that has been plagued by turmoil and scandal...”
What scandal?
All those glamorous clothing are nothing compared to her inner beauty.
“Michelle O.: Savvy & sophisticated shopper. LOLOLOLOLOL She wore blankets. Just sayin.”
...and spent other peoples money.
HORSE blankets. Held on by boob belts, accessorized with fake hair and a permanent scowl.
I thought Vogue magazine was in the business of promoting opulent clothing. Nobody would wear anything in their pages they are certainly right teen very snippily about Melania. Shows their politics.
Melania and Jackie on Inauguration Day and at the Inaugural Ball.

To First Lady Melania's List.
That is correct Hoosiermama :D
She has a wonderful heart that radiates outward.
After 8 years of having a wookie as first creature, Melainia is a refreshing sight of class, dignity, respect, and most of all.... silence.
I do wish media would stop calling her Trump. They have done this for years to our First Lady (whoever she might be) Would it cost a fortune to supply 3 characters and a PERIOD before the name? Apparently ink is becoming expensive/rare and too many greenbacks have been been used for FAKE NEWS to afford the additional cost. Chances are they also have problems in spelling Melania.
Thanks, HL. They treat her like ‘one of the guys’, which, of course, she is not and, from what we’ve seen thus far, never will be.
LOVELY MELANIA. They are going to have to add another wing in the White House for her wardrobe and accessories. :)
Camelot, my foot. Jackie was a cunning nitwit—with eyes so far apart she looked like a flounder. Melania is the first FLOTUS with this breathtaking fashion presence. I do wish we could have a magazine devoted to just what the Trump ladies wear.
