This is a steaming pile of BS!!!! I know some young men in the service and their take on the transgender military service is that these people enlist, then declare they are trannys. Now the Gov has to pay for their hormone therapy and they go on inactive service until they have completed the hormone regimen could be up to 2 years. So now Uncle Sam gets to pay them for being in the service and pay for their treatments and US gets nothing out of them in return they cant even file papers because they can’t house them with the men or the women!!! This was nothing more than a concession by the Obama admin to the LGBT community to give free Gov funded hormone therapy .

And, even if the wildest numbers are correct and there are 15,000 Transsexuals in the military (that's a full division of them? I call BS!!!) ..... the estimated cost to replace them - replacement, so it necessarily would be over and above base cost for the personnel - is nearly a Billion dollars?

What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how to speak, 4) how to think… and 5) who to vote for.
But the problem is the one-eyed following the blind: these self-described members of the “intelligenzia” can’t find a coconut in Coconut Island, meaning they aren’t intelligent enough to define intelligence and fall into circularities?—?, but their main skills is ability to pass exams written by people like them.
With psychology papers replicating less than 40%, dietary advice reversing after 30 years of fatphobia, macroeconomic analysis working worse than astrology, the appointment of Bernanke who was less than clueless of the risks, and pharmaceutical trials replicating at best only 1/3th of the time, people are perfectly entitled to rely on their own ancestral instinct and listen to their grandmothers (or Montaigne and such filtered classical knowledge) with a better track record than these policymaking goons.

How can you have a study with a range like that? I tend to think the 15,500 number was pulled out of someone’s *.

The left is famous for looking at things with a completely static analysis. It’s how they justify “minimum wage” laws and such.
Everything is dynamic with policy change. How did the military ever survive for over 200 years while banning not just cross-dressers, but sodomites as well?

They are nothing other than a lobbying group. So you can’t expect any “study” to come out legit from them.
Besides, just the uniform alterations along would take a big chunk out of that transfering cost. And it doesn’t cover the cost of barracks’ being built to separate the transgender troops from the main stay.
I had one living up here in Seattle back in 1993 that cleared out the men’s locker room when he entered in a summer dress and parasol with white gloves and flower covered hat. He had been put out on a section 8 and had full retirement benefits. Then he cleared out the sauna when he entered a co-ed sauna in a pink, sea through, pair of shorts and a shower cap. Two of the personnel that were chased out were the Vice Wing Commander and the Base Chaplain. They were very upset that a woman had entered the men’s locker room. I quietly asked them to think again as this was not a woman. They asked (?) me to take it forward. My unit commander thought I was pulling his leg until he called the office of the wing commander and got the vice on the phone.
