What ambivalence? There was a very clear moral equivalence between the BLM and the “white supremists”, both of which are BLINDLY racists, and between the “Neo-Nazis” and the “Antifas”, tracing back to the bitter and deadly confrontation between the original Nazis following Adolf Hitler, and the “anti-Fascist” Communists under Josef Stalin.
The more things change, the more they keep reverting back to some tribal warfare existence.
There were no innocents in the confrontation in Charlottesville. The escalation was due almost entirely to the decision of the local authorities to have the police forces stand down. Don’t suppose they were in on this whole Kabuki theater production, do you?
President Trump’s moral clarity is that of the Constitution of the United States, not that of the ‘social/justice/cultural mob’ demands.

Yes, those rallying against tearing down the monuments to their history were ill advised to allow people waving Nazi flags to join their protest. National Socialism is the absolute opposite of the Confederate heritage. But is Jeb really so dense that he cannot accept that the Leftist thugs, dressed for the coming rumble, were every bit as much to blame for that rumble, as the mixed purpose group they assaulted?
I do not think that Jeb is that dense. I think he is simply pandering to a viciously unfair mass media. If that is moral clarity, the words have lost all meaning.

Moral clarity cannot be had when blame is placed before the facts are known. President Trump handled that situation exactly as it should have been handled at the time. I wonder how America will eventually like it’s Orwellian society?
