CBS pretty proud of Iceland for 'eliminating' Down Syndrome by killing everyone who has it

You want to denounce Nazis? Here you go, America.

Don't tell me again about the moral imperative to denounce Nazis if you're going to let this slide.

As Rob mentioned to me when we were discussing who would write this up, the essence of Hitler's eugenics program was to filter out children who didn't have the traits deemed optimal for the Aryan race. Horrifying? Obviously. You'd have a fit if they started aborting babies for having brown skin, or - if there was some way you could tell - for being gay.

And you should have that fit.

But you don't need to wait. You can have the fit right now, because Iceland is well down this road. There, expectant mothers are given blood tests to determine if there's a likelihood their baby will have Down Syndrome. And if it looks that way? Well, the mothers are informed that most abort under these circumstances. No one wants a child who doesn't have the perfect designer genes, you understand, so Iceland is now to the point where almost 100 percent of mothers who are told their babies will probably have Down Syndrome go ahead and have said babies killed.

And CBS News is congratulating Iceland for this rousing success. It started yesterday with this triumphant sounding tweet:

We can eliminate cancer and heart disease by just developing genetic tests for susceptibility for it and then just forcing mothers carrying "at risk babies" to just abort....

Just imagine HOW MUCH MONEY the SINGLE PAYER system can SAVE if we DO THAT SIMPLE EASY STEP.... /sarc

Once you start putting people in Government controlled actuary tables, the government has the power over the people IN those tables.

Where does it stop? What happens when they have a genetic test for everything? Will the government raise the social security age to 80 with the caveat that everyone susceptible to old age disease be snuffed out on the front end ???

The left bitches about health insurance companies using actuary tables, but those same idiots don't bring up that as a private industry they cannot FORCE you to do anything, but the government CAN and if history holds, it WILL.

Soon they’ll have a prenatal test that will enable them to diagnose and eliminate diabetes.

Thinking on their reasoning I wonder...If the likelihood of producing a Downs(or other genetically problematic)child can be established would parents be advised to sterlize themselves thus removing all possibilities of such a pregnancy?

Ok—where has everyone been? They routinely give tests in this country that ferret out the risk of Downs syndrome in the fetus, and many, many of those babies are aborted.

I’m not pro abortion, but we need to stick with the facts here and not go down the rabbit hole of falsehoods routinely used by the other side, or we will lose all credibility.

Sara Palin on FOX last night was a prime example of this when she made the point that people were aborting Downs syndrome babies because they “looked and talked differently.” The truth is that these children are profoundly handicapped and also prone to a number of adverse health conditions that will likely render their lives much shorter than the standard US lifespan. You have to add on that the worry of the parents about who will look after these children once they are older and the birth parents are dead. There is a lot more to think about than just someone who “looks or sounds different.”

Having said this, every family I know with a Downs child loves that child intensely, and by all accounts, this relationship is a very special experience that teaches us all about unconditional love. Something to think about here, but we need to face all the truths.

Commie care will produce a cure for old age in the same fashion.

First they came for those with Downs syndrome. I didn’t have Downs syndrome, so I did not care.

We can cure cancer in our lifetimes by eliminating everyone who tests positive for it. And diabetes. And AIDS. And tuberculosis. Liberals can do magic when they set their minds to it.

Just substitute “Germany” and “Jews” in the story and see how it plays.

Most of much can be corrected. Downs people most commonly have cardiovascular problems that need tending to but if caught early and fixed are not a problem in the long run. There are a few other things but same rule applies fix them early.

The cost? I’m so glad you ask that! Far less expensive than treating a faggot with AIDS long term.

Yep. We all need “free” (compulsorily and universally subsidized) death - I mean health - care, so that we can provide abortion and euthanasia to all the needy people who are too stupid or ignorant to know that they do not deserve a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The Downs test has been mandatory in California since the early ‘90’s. Number Two Son tested positive in utero. Didn’t abort. He was born perfectly healthy.

They since have a new test. It’s called Materni T 21. It’s non abrasive and detects much early that the ones from the past. Early detection means (to these people) not having to wait and get a late term abortion which is expensive, dangerous, and now in some states banned.
“as early as ten weeks into your pregnancy.” In fact if not mistaken one can still take RU-486 then.

But if they discover that homosexuality is a genetic predisposition...
