You really should do a few minutes of research before you call an historical figure a slave-owner. Franklin lived most of his life in Pennsylvania, not at all known for slave ownership, although I’m sure there were a few. General of the Army Grant commanded the force that defeated the Confederacy. Yes, Washington, Jefferson and Jackson owned slaves.

I wasn’t trying to offend our past leaders but found this humorous as the climate of hysteria about anything of our historic past was offensive to those that want to tear anyone down,regardless! Please move on lecturing me.

Franklin owned two slaves. Grant owned one. Franklin later in life freed his slaves, King and George and actually became a leader in an abolitionist movement. Grant freed his slave in 1859.

Slavery and might makes right is the natural state of mankind. Slavery was and is practiced everywhere in the World. It is quite possible that there are more slaves by raw number in the World today than at any time ever in human history. .
