Trump’s Embrace of Racially Charged Past...(NYT confirms "good" people at rally)
New York Times ^

“Good people can go to Charlottesville,” said Michelle Piercy, a night shift worker at a Wichita, Kan., retirement home, who drove all night with a conservative group that opposed the planned removal of a statue of the Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

After listening to Mr. Trump on Tuesday, she said it was as if he had channeled her and her friends — all gun-loving defenders of free speech, she said, who had no interest in standing with Nazis or white supremacists: “It’s almost like he talked to one of our people.”

Conservatives like Ms. Piercy, who have grown only more emboldened after Charlottesville, believe that the political and media elite hold them and Mr. Trump to a harsh double standard that demands they answer for the sins of a radical, racist fringe. They largely accept Mr. Trump’s contention that these same forces are using Charlottesville as an excuse to undermine his presidency, and by extension, their vote.

Don’t worry as usual the left always acts extra and goes too far.
People are now focusing in on the removal of statues and monuments and most Americans are not having it.

Never stand with the Klan, never stand with Nazis, never stand with commies.

“People are now focusing in on the removal of statues and monuments and most Americans are not having it.”

In the last two years, have more Confederate monuments been erected or have more Confederate monuments been demolished?

In the last two years has the left lost it’s mind or gained sanity?

The point is Trump condemned the Klan as disgusting but also spoke the truth. There were some decent people there just to protest the removal of the Robert E. Lee statue on free speech grounds. Maybe they didn’t know it was going to turn into such a freak show for the white supremacist groups but truth is truth. There were non-racists there.

Oh and btw ZERO should be demolished because it offends someone. You don’t tear down a symbols of a country’s history due to some finding it offense, because where does it end with the appeasement? Sort of like how not liking what someone has to say should not be cause for violently attacking them. This is bigger than an inanimate object and you know it, troll.

Good question. I would think more have been destroyed or moved out of the public eye. I can’t really remember any new Confederate monuments dedicated of late...if there were I’d figure the media would make a big stink about it

We really need to start hitting back. If this is what they want to do, then let’s start pulling down statues of their heroes.

At your next patriotic rally for free speech rights and support for the police and soldiers - be peaceful as all hell, don’t even bear your arms. Remember the media will be looking for the worst, for any display of violence or anti-minority sentiment by the right. Just proclaim your support for the flag, free speech and the 2nd Amendment and law enforcement.

We all know that it is the left that usually initiates the violence and vandalism. Let that be the story (as if the MSM has a shred of objectivity), as it could have been in Charlottesville were it not for that one idiot with a car creating the martyrs they cherish.

I know - wishful thinking, assuming we will get decent police protection and fair media coverage.

while the NYT is busy labeling Trump a racist, why aren’t they also putting Wes Bellamy under the racist microscope?

The political blow that Mr. Trump has sustained is deep and worsening. Barely one-third of Americans now say they approve of the job he is doing, according to two polls released this week — a fresh low for a president who was already among the most unpopular in modern times.

People are afraid of being 'outed' as a Trump supporter. If the New York Times wants to know the true numbers they'll have to wait for an election... because in the privacy of the voting booth Trump wins.

Many conservatives have reasons to hide feelings from liberal thugs... If I was young with children and a job. The New York Times is oblivious to how thuggy the left is ... what jerks they are...

That is exactly the point. With the CEOs with people. They are afraid of the communists, and their tactics. What a way to live in America.

“In the last two years, have more Confederate monuments been erected or have more Confederate monuments been demolished?”

Dumb question. In a civilized society, no monument should be demolished.
Agitate, destroy, demolish, that’s what the left is only good at.
