Not that it matters to me but I live in PA but had to purchase Bulleit out of state when it was first introduced on the east coast. This was years ago and my bottle of Bulleit Bourbon stated on the back of the label in very fine print that the product was distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This is a huge distillery that supplies many labels. They, as I remember it, shipped the distillate to Ky for aging and packaging. Many brands purchase in bulk from contract producers and finish in house. Don’t forget it takes years to build a distillery and then age the whiskey so it is a huge investment of time and money.
JD is absolutely aged in charred oak barrels. It was called Tenn. Whiskey way before NAFTA kicked in.
Mr. Lix will have to fight being lumped in with Thunderbird, M/D 2020, Boone's Farm...
BTW, whiskey is AGED in wood, not fermented. Flavored, not cooked! Wood alcohol is toxic to humans.
Been there and done that.
Literally.
Me too, I like me some Laphroiag Islay single malt
I always have some Bulleit on hand. It says “Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey” Louisville Ky. I’m reading off the label, think I’ll have me a shot! It’s good stuff, a little higher rye content than most. I also love Buffalo Trace, been having a shot of one, then the other trying to decide which I like best. Been doing it for about three years, still can’t make up my mind!
You’re confusing it with Vidalia Onions.
He’s making liquor, not Bourbon.

It Was The Whiskey Talkin' - Jerry Lee Lewis
That's sad that he took his own life to avoid going to federal prison. I took a look around and found some interesting things out there about Popcorn. For anyone else reading this thread who, like me, didn't know about him, I'll post a few links I found so they can learn a little about him too.
Is the fifth Woodford Reserve?
he was a good man
Your song reminded me of the following song. (There are links here for two versions of the song - one has lousy quality, but shows the funny video, while the other one has better sound, but no video. I couldn't find one on youtube with both good sound and video.)
"Little Bits and Pieces" - Jim Stafford (version 1 - lousy quality, but has funny video portion too) "Little Bits and Pieces" - Jim Stafford (version 2 - better sound quality, but no video) |
Wow, you are located right in whiskyville! My dad always drank J&B and I could never choke down one sip. Scotch always made me gag. It smells great though.
Is this standard enforced or is it a tradition?
