I would LMAO if they turned on the Hollywood lefties.
I know what you mean...I must say, though, that line has found its way into frequent use for me...when attempting to look at an issue I know very little about, I use that quote to convey it in a humorous way.
That young girl spoke more eloquently than many young people I have heard in this day and age...
OH yes our town has the night of lights, as well as Christmas music, carol singers, and a Christmas tree, and I am just waiting too for the ACLU, or another commie, lunatic group to come in.

And Mammy (in the movie) was empowered to speak her mind as well. To be a slave has no extenuating aspects, but it does seem to me not only plausible but likely that there were many slave holders who would not only seek the opinion of some of their slaves, but would consider their views as well.
George Washington was the most famous example, and I am sure there are many others, Hollywood not withstanding. History is full of examples dating back to Roman times and even before that, so I consider it as something that did take place.
And I also think it is true that there were some slaves who developed a degree of familial tenderness with the families of those who enslaved them. Hard to imagine, but I don’t doubt that it happened.
Sometimes I think it is the same mindset where someone in one class layer can speak honestly to someone from another very different inferior or superior layer, in much the same way as some highly stratified class of people will discuss very intricate, personal, or professional issues with their butler, bartender or barber who is quite obviously in a different class layer.
Olivia DeHavilland, age 101, is the only cast member still alive. I feel sad if she sees this nonsense going on.
It’s called Manopause, but it’s only found in white males with your particular predilections.
Don’t worry, you’ll survive; it’s the rest of society that’s in real trouble.
Thanks for the link. I will watch it when I get home.
Booker T. Washington was a great man. Pity that much of the black community seems to hold someone such as W.E.B. Dubois in higher esteem, IMO, because I believe him to be blinded and leading his followers into a philosophical dead end.
Booker T. Washington embodied (to me) much of the spirit of self-reliance that we conservatives like to think this great country was founded on. It is regrettable that W.E.B. Dubois and his ilk had such contempt for Booker T. Washington.
I don’t believe any of them were half the man he was.
Reading “Up From Slavery” only bolsters that opinion I have. THAT is an inspiring book, pity it wasn’t taken to heart by some.
Scarlett, she hepped me some.
The Voice of Reason in all troubled times.
I plan to get mine soon.
(XP-38? As in, Kelly Johnson, Lockheed Lightning?)
Dont worry, youll survive; its the rest of society thats in real trouble.
I sent my wife, friends and conservative relatives my Manopause statement. My wife and closest blood relatives just laughed and said that white guys were the new targets of the liberals and their mediots. That, I would survive this latest challenge like other challenges.
Choosing the PC bathroom may be biggest challenge of the next 7.5 years for all of us.
Look at the bright side.
Erase history and they have nothing to bitch about.
It will put the Jesse and Al types out of business.
One of my favorite scenes from the movie:
Scarlett: Atlanta!
Mammy: Savannah would be better for ya. You'd just get in trouble in Atlanta.
Scarlett: What trouble are you talking about?
Mammy: You know what trouble I's talkin' 'bout. I's talking 'bout Mr. Ashley Wilkes. He'll be comin' to Atlanta when he gets his leave, and you sittin' there waitin' for him, just like a spider. He belongs to Miss Melanie...
Scarlett: You go pack my things like Mother said.
Another of my favorite scenes:
Rhett: Have another glass, Mammy. What's that rustling noise I hear?
Mammy: Lordsy, Mr. Rhett. That ain't nothin' but my red silk petticoat you done give me.
Rhett: Nothing but your petticoat. I don't believe it. Let me see. Pull up your skirt.
Mammy: Mr. Rhett. You is bad.
No sorry. xp38 in my case is an obscure star wars reference.
PATHETIC!!!!!
Gone With The Wind’ is going to be banned? To paraphrase, ‘Frankly snowflake liberals, I don’t give a damn. You are morons!’
The Dems are screwed: They’ve already lost white males and with each passing day they are forced to support their base which are now currently doing everything in their power to ape the tactics of Brownshirts and islamic Terrorists.
Two good picks, to be sure. And they show Mammy as one with a certain moral authority; a moral authority flowing both from her honesty & loyalty: Qualities not well even understood by Leftist theorists.
You are right on the money!
