Russian President Vladimir Putin cautioned the United States on Friday not to apply too much pressure on North Korea regarding its nuclear weapon program, saying the strained relationship between the two countries was "on the verge of a large-scale conflict."

Putin posted the warning on the Kremlin website before he left for the BRICS nations summit in China, Reuters reported. Putin called on the two nations to open up dialogue with one another.

Glad I’m not a Putin boot licker. It’s about to get complicated for them as POTUS asserts US power.

I quite agree - while it can be quite enjoyable much of the time, there is incredible responsibility and pressure. Not to mention what Trump has personally had to deal with - more outright hostility than any President in modern history, to be sure (Lincoln may be the only one who had it worse...though there wan’t any social media, etc. then).

Note, though, that this kind of thing is evidence, IMHO, of what Trump’s true motivations were and are. This guy is a multi-billionaire, with hotels and golf courses all around the world. He, as a 69-year-old, didn’t have to enter the political world and endure all of this insane vilification, he could have kicked back and enjoyed his family and the fruits of his labor. But he CHOSE to serve - for no compensation - because he actually loves this country and wants to take it out of what was clearly a death spiral. He is EXACTLY the kind of person that the Founders would have wanted in high office - someone who knows what he’s doing, who doesn’t NEED to serve but WANTS to do so to help the country. Well, OK, maybe they’d have wanted him to wear one of their wigs because his hair gets a little out of hand sometimes, but they’d have admired his intentions, his actions and his sheer love of country.

Everyone on FR ought to appreciate that, and communicate that understanding and appreciation with their moderate and even liberal friends, neighbors and acquaintances.

Not a Putin boot-licker.

Not at all.

However, it does seem to me, that there are quite a lot of Americans who are all on board with China taking over ever-more of our former manufacturing.

While demonizing Russia.

Seems like a pretty similar thing, to what Dems are trying to do.

Just saying.

Does Putin understand that the Korean peninsula is still technically in a state of war?

The Korean War didn't "end" in 1953. A simple cease-fire was agreed upon.

So, we've been in dialogue with them for over 60 years, and besides, the incompetent previous administrations didn't do a damn thing in terms of talks.

Sorry it’s a Fox News article.

I had the CNN link on the story originally, but decided that was indeed a questionable source.

So I linked to the Fox News article instead. Unfortunately I forgot to change the article link, I had originally.

Sorry about that.

Russia is in bed with the Norks. Sorry, they have earned every bit of “demonization” they get.

Might want to do your homework before coming to the defense of one party state fascist Russia. Just saying.

Russia and China, used to be communist countries.

China is STILL a huge communist country.

We are running a MASSIVE manufacturing trade deficit with China. Basically everything in every store in America, is now from China.

The country, which is still communist.

Russia is making NOTHING for us.

I don’t understand why, except I really do.

I do not think anyone declared war. It’s a police action.

Agree 100%. The signers of the Declaration of Independence mutually pledged "our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor". President Trump is the first man to hold the office in a very long time to live up to that standard. That's why so many give thanks to God every day for raising up such a man.
