'We Can Do Better' landed at the network with a sizable penalty attached. Free of the Star Wars Han Solo movie, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are turning their attention back to the small screen.
The Last Man on Earth creators have sold single-camera comedy We Can Do Better to ABC. The comedy, which landed at the Disney-owned network with multiple outlets bidding and a significant penalty attached, revolves around a soccer mom who deals with her newly "woke" life in the South as a parent, wife, American citizen and daughter of a hardcore conservative parents.
Last Man on Earth supervising producer Liz Cackowski will pen the script and exec produce the comedy alongside Lord, Miller and their president of television Seth Cohen. Last Man on Earth assistant producer Katie Newman is attached to produce.
The comedy hails from 20th Century Fox Television, where Lord and Miller are under an overall deal.
Last season, Lord and Miller had three comedies — all on Fox. Rookies Making History and Son of Zorn were canceled after one season, while Will Forte starrer Last Man returns Oct. 1 for its fourth season on Fox.
The prolific producers, who also count features The Lego Movie and the 21 Jump Street franchise, are repped by UTA. Cackowski (Speechless, Community, Saturday Night Live) is also with UTA.

This must be their payoff for leaving the Han Solo movie without making a fuss.

I guess this is what’s known as a “meme”— mostly I see it used by progressives and snowflakes to refer to their awakening to their own white guilt, or privilege. How sweet that they have been so brainwashed that they call their brainwashing woke. Verbs turn into nouns, nouns into verbs—

Exactly. I read that the show Transparent is one of the lowest rated shows on Amazon, but it continues to be renewed.
