“I am sick of United Way extortion.”

Yes. I think having United Way collections at work places is unfair. It puts the employees under pressure. Everyone has the right to give money the way they choose.

United Way gives money to Planned Parenthood and other liberal causes.

I let it be known that I will give directly to the charity, and cut United way out of the middle. Got BLASTED for that by HR because a lot of people followed my lead.

Go into a Walmart and the ‘greeter’ has a cup and the cashier also has one.
Harris Teeter has a sign at check out that says
“This bottle of water is yours IF the cashier doesn’t ask for a donation”.
(I see it and say to them - Before I forget, that bottle of water is YOURS.... usually followed by a quizzical (dumb) look and I explain that seeing as I get the water if you don’t ask - DON’T ask and the water is yours.

This is an issue (for me) as most stores are doing it. I ask if there is any difference between them and the guy in the median with a cup.

AT LEAST when you order on line you don’t get all this ‘extra crap’.....

Amazon GIVES you 2 day FREE shipping and price is normally lower than the stores....
