The House is set to vote on the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.” The bill would make it illegal for anyone to perform, or attempt to perform, an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy; it allows exceptions for rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. A similar measure won House approval in 2015 but failed in the Senate. President Trump has pledged to sign it if it reaches his desk.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, sent a letter to House members last week saying, “All decent and humane people are repulsed by the callous and barbarous treatment of women and children in clinics…that abort children after 20 weeks.” He labeled the 20-week ban a “common-sense reform.”
The Catholic League commends Cardinal Dolan for his leadership on this matter; we strongly support the legislation. The question is why any rational person would oppose it. Curiously, those who do oppose it offer almost nothing in support of their position.
The Feminist Majority Foundation put out a statement against the bill last week, but never once took up the central question of fetal pain. The best the National Organization for Women could do was to quote one doctor who said fetal pain was “not likely.” Which means he is conceding that unborn babies at 20 weeks may feel pain...

20 weeks? Do these victims have difficulty with scheduling?
After several missed periods they still aren’t sure they are pregnant?
Another immoral, unconstitutional, useless bit of lawless legislation.
I still have problems even with the painless dismemberment of an unborn baby. I hope this isn’t just going to be circumvented with anesthesia.
Why are we trading the life of a child for the temporary pain and embarrassment of a woman? Adoption is a sure thing with so many waiting for that child

I would just like you to know that in the secular, socialist Sweden “free abortion right” is only until week 18. After that the mother needs permission from a medical board, and permission is only granted in special cases. After a longer pregnancy than 21 weeks 6 days no abortion is allowed to be granted ever.
Shielding from pain?
But not from an unnecessary death?
Abortion needs to be banned from conception forward, not just from 20 weeks after conception forward, because the latter is a 20 week permission slip to violently murder innocent little preborn babies.
A baby can start to feel pain from 18 weeks and is fully developed by 26 weeks. Scientific studies have shown that over and over. And the left ignores that.
But when comes to global warming that has not been scientifically proven, mainly computer model base, they fall in line.
I wonder what the left would do if people start bringing their dogs into the vets to have abortion? That would probably be interesting.
