cool. ...bout time they put up or shut up..
;^)
Paraphrasing Adm Yamamoto;
“There will be a rifle behind every blade of grass.”
we won’t die that easy. They’ll have to work for it, which means we win. They don’t know how to “work”
Well, I’m already pretty much bugged out in a quiet corner of North Idaho. But I appreciate the offer. Wouldn’t care to live in an urban / suburban area for anything.
It won’t go well for them in Idaho. The last item tells the tale. And welcome to Idaho.
TITLE 18
CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS
CHAPTER 40
HOMICIDE
18-4009. JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE BY ANY PERSON. Homicide is also justifiable when committed by any person in either of the following cases:
1. When resisting any attempt to murder any person, or to commit a felony, or to do some great bodily injury upon any person; or,
2. When committed in defense of habitation, property or person, against one who manifestly intends or endeavors, by violence or surprise, to commit a felony, or against one who manifestly intends and endeavors, in a violent, riotous or tumultuous manner, to enter the habitation of another for the purpose of offering violence to any person therein; or,
3. When committed in the lawful defense of such person, or of a wife or husband, parent, child, master, mistress or servant of such person, when there is reasonable ground to apprehend a design to commit a felony or to do some great bodily injury, and imminent danger of such design being accomplished; but such person, or the person in whose behalf the defense was made, if he was the assailant or engaged in mortal combat, must really and in good faith have endeavored to decline any further struggle before the homicide was committed; or,
4. When necessarily committed in attempting, by lawful ways and means, to apprehend any person for any felony committed, or IN LAWFULLY SUPPRESSING ANY RIOT, or in lawfully keeping and preserving the peace.
Yeah, the guys at Steyr stepped up to a new level of hammer-forging capability with the StG-58 program. I've considered moving to something "more modern", but I rescued that box of pristine parts from those idiots over in Austria who wanted to take sledgehammers and bend every surplus rifle's barrel. It's tough to justify a SCAR-17 when the FAL still does the job.
I've been looking at various optics for mine, too. What did you go with?
It’s an NC Star red dot with 1.5 magnification. Sure, it’s cheating, but if you ain’t cheatin’ you ain’t tryin’.
Can’t afford really fancy optics, so it’s a decent compromise.
They are trying to celebrate and mark the 100th anniversary of the Communist revolution in Russia. That seems to be a big deal to them.
Works for me...
Good stuff. The < I > and < blockquote > tags are very useful for posts with long quotes in them, interspersed with commentary.
The Russian Empire used a lunar calendar. Their October was everyone else's November, until after the Revolution, they changed too.
I was thinking of a 1 - 4 variable with some sort of illuminated “donut and dot” reticle (good for close-up/quick or longer range precision). Depends on weight as much as cost - the FAL is already as heavy as a bumper jack.
George Marshall was a good guy who was out of his depth re communist subversion, and thus fell for some of their propaganda operations in the U.S. That led to some bad decisions regarding national security. He should have listened to the pros.
That’s my take on him. Thank you.
I just finished reading “Marshall and His Generals” by Stephen R. Taaffe and I recommend it highly.
“Antifa has simply been somewhat dormant since that era while it regrouped.”
OAN had a special about these groups a week or so agor, and I was shocked to see how long Antifa has been around. We thought it had just sprung up, but no. Neither of us slept much that night.
Yep.
Like you, I could no more live in a city (or even a closely-packed neighborhood) than I could eat my car. I’m in the Berkshires, well hidden from the bulk of humanity, surrounded by raccoons, bears, squirrels and sasquatch.
