Why don’t people ask the obvious?
- Supposedly gambles up to 1 million a year.
- Pays for everything in cash...including his HOUSES.
- Travels the world when he wants.
- Spoke to only a very select few about nothing for years.
- Very low profile.
- His brother said he made the whole family rich and 100K is nothing.
- Paddock only worked government jobs.

- sorry but based on all the comps the guy got...the casino’s were making money on him not losing. He did not get rich gambling.

My giuess is the gambling was to launder money (common)...but on,y a guess.

- Oh ya, real estate (which is the best way to become rich...but not easy as a gov employee who like to gamble).

You say: He joined ISIS (rumor is 6 months ago...ya that is clearly the most logical explanation...not for a second).

If it was ISIS, he would leave info everywhere AND they would say so immediately.

Weird how they were so quick to say it was only one gunman. Like within minutes.

My guess (and only a guess..but makes more sense) he was working for an intelligence agency and something went very wrong (i.e. gun running or who knows what...).

But logically he has all the attributes of someone in that line of work: Unlimited cash, no history to look up, owns planes / one of which appears to be owned by a private contractor now ...that does work for intelligence agencies).

Logically I would say that is a better bet than ISIS.

Think the Feds were involved for sure and yes lost control big time, seem to be good at this.

There is zero evidence that either Stephen or his gf are Muslim. In fact there are several photos of the gf wearing a cross necklace and Santa hat. If he targeted other music festivals that ends the political motive theory. Why is it assumed he needed help to pull this off?

Everything that has been presented as evidence so far could be done by someone (one man) with intelligence which he obviously had.

The one tinfoil hat theory I think makes the most sense is someone had leverage on this guy to do this so the casinos are forced to install metal detectors- that contract will be worth billions.

Arms dealer? Nope, if so he wouldn’t have used guns that the ATF all traced to him.

Isis? Was he secretly praying in the garage like the guy from Homeland? Drinking heavily and gambling seems like it might not go over well for a radical islamist.

One thing is for sure, his strange brother sure seems to know something and isn’t saying. Maybe just that he isn’t that surprised this happened because Steve was a weirdo.

We will probably never know but how much you want to bet all the casinos start installing metal detectors from the same company?

For those that think he did not get rich from gambling: IRS said he claimed $5 million on 1099 gambling earnings for 2015.

We don’t “know” that...

it was reported much (not all) of the 5 million came from online gambling.....but the same article goes on to say:

“suggests that netting $5 million in one year on video poker, even as an expert, would be an extremely rare achievement.”

I have not seen any returns..so I don’t see it as fact. Show me a long history of returns, or video, and than I’d be more prone to believe it.

Makes sense (at least more than joining the ISIS club).

Funny how so many freepers yell about the corupt FBI and Hillary but do a 180 about this topic.

BAsed on the FBI’s recent history, I wouldn’t be surprised by anything...nott o mention JFK, Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, not to mention all the public data stuff like fast and furious.

I agree on the money-laundering angle. He had no social media connection. No one has even noted that he was registered to vote. He was casting the lowest possible shadow possible. It’s all the way of a professional connected to the mafia. The need for that period of owning two planes? Some type of courier for someone.

Check out the qibla direction, the direction of the Kaaba at Mecca, to which Muslims turn at prayer.

All three go from the hotels over the music festivals.

I’m going to set-aside Fast and Furious since it’s not necessary and his Plane/CIA BS.

My conspiracy theory is substantially more simple.

Sting/entrapment of a White Guy on Domestic terrorism charges in order to make a political point.

And the Feds lost control of the operation.

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Smells like fast & furious or Arizona vipers, okc, waco, randy weaver to me.

Did they bring lon horuchia out of retirement to pull this off?

This was no snap.

I think all this "extensive preparation", and his "feelers", to the extent of renting rooms, for Lalapalooza in Chicago, and others, IIRC, certify this.

Still, his ultimate motive remains an enigma, to me at least. Unless it is simply misanthropy.

I recall hearing that the WTC hijackers spent some nights before the big operation in a strip club.

I think jihadi murder wipes out all prior sins. It also throws the cops off your trail.

How long before his act was he drinking heavily? How long before was he wearing that cross? How often was he seen in a church? Maybe he wore it because it was gold—another way to store value. Maybe he wore it as camouflage.

He didn’t, couldn’t have made that kind of money off the back of a Las Vegas casino.
He was laundering money the old fashioned way, real estate and gambling. Maybe the gambling took over and he came up short? What then? Maybe somebody bailed him out, gave him perks, showed him the way, and pinned him in a corner.

There are two organization that come to mind, who would have that kind of money to launder. Both are ruthless. A debt to them would be a death sentence to your entire family and circle of friends. Maybe they’d let you live a while longer to see it go down. Of course they might offer an option: killing somebody else. If you do the job(s) and get away, you’re clear. The odds of that are nil, but if a guy thinks he’s smart enough...

Finally, you have to figure who they’d want you to take out. One organization would send you after a specific target, the other would want a lot of random deaths; it would favor bombs and fire. It would want chaos and terror.

Stephen delivered, but it didn’t quite work out like he hoped.

If it was ISIS, he would leave info everywhere..
Not if the info might help the investigation.

AND they would say so immediately.

They did claim credit. How immediately I'm not sure, but then, it would take time for them to get news of their success.

So wouldn't he have shot up the casino? Would he have needed so many guns? Would he have brought bombs along with him?

He proves the worst terror occurred during Trump's watch. He probably was keenly aware of the existential despair, dissolution and hedonistic escape of much of American society and himself, today, and the weakness of Christianity in reversing those. He therefore may have come to believe that mandatory, forced religious indoctrination and restraint of the masses is the remedy.

Do you really think he thought that far ahead?

It sounds like he was more fixated on his own problems.

People overwhelmed by depression and anger may have an admiration for violent movements and terrorists, but I doubt they buy into the ideology to that extent.

People who lived near his Florida residence said they didn’t see him very often before he finally moved out. He was away most of the time, probably at casinos in Nevada.

Have any of you seen Ozark? Seems this could be a situation like that.

If some group did force this guy to do this for some reason they certainly covered up any connection in a professional way. That he is such a blank slate lends credence to exactly what you are saying - looks like a job he was told to do.

Maybe he was recently diagnosed with a terminal disease and decided to go postal for no other reason than he was an A-hole, or maybe follow the money- who benefits from an attack like this? It’s Hegelian Dialectic Problem Reaction Solution.

I thought for sure he was a libtard until it was revealed he cased other music festivals. I don’t think he needed help to do this, but it does seem very possible he was forced to do it for some reason. What is a person capable of if their entire family is threatened? Is that why the brother acts so strange? Does he know Stephen had to do this and why? That would explain his strange behavior in interviews.

Will we ever know? Doubtful.

Misanthropy is a passive emotion. It’s not just that.
