FULL TITLE: Former Seattle Seahawks player says women are 'incapable of knowing football' and should stop trying to 'move into male spaces'

Former Seattle Seahawks player John Moffitt said in a Facebook post on Sunday that women are 'incapable' of understanding football.

In the post, the former offensive lineman, who retired from the NFL four years ago, also said women were 'moving into male spaces and demanding respect'.

The comment comes five days after Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was criticized for saying he thought it was 'funny' that a female reporter was asking questions about wide receiver routes on Wednesday.

I'll back him up on this one thing. Jourdan Rodrigue gives blondes a bad name.

Tommy Sotomayor said the same thing.

you know a line in the sand has been drawn.

Which one do I hate most?

NBA or Feminist?

This time? The Feminists.

The NBA problem is taking care of itself.

The feminist problem is a much harder one to deal with and I like it that people are taking a stand against it.

Then again...why not kill two birds with one stone?

Women can learn the terminology and how to use the words to ask questions but likely don’t really know what the answers mean.

You sexist! lol

Seriously, though. Of course if a woman is really interested in football she knows the game well and knows what teh answers mean. What would prevent a female who loves the game and watched it since a kid with her daddy, from knowing the game?

Please don’t say because she never played it, because a lot of male fans never played football in school, same goes for the male sports reporters.

Women who become reporters are not likely to have mastered the game or grown up with it.

I hope this guy doesn’t have a job since he left the team. He will be bombarded.

Maybe. I see your point about reporters and not some girl in Alabama (football is a religion in the south) in some Friday Night Lights town.

The observation is improperly worded. There are countless women who understand football from the ground up. There are, however, no feminists who have the intestinal fortitude or respect for male anatomy to understand the game.
There are few, if any, MSM on the field reporterettes who are not feminists.
Sending a feminist reporter into a locker room is the same as stirring up a hive of hornets in a nudist colony.

He's missing some things. As an offensive lineman, he may also have played defensive line, linebacker, tight end and fullback since his days in Pop Warner.

To become a coach, he must learn the other positions by reading, watching video, attending camps, etc in order to be able to tell a free safety what to do even though he never covered a receiver in his career. That's no different from what a reporter has to do.

My wife became a fan through me. 15 years later she still thinks a team might do this or that next when it would be ABSURD!!!

Sometimes I CANT BELIEVE what she suggests should be a team’s next play.

Winning team has the ball. Other team has no time outs. 90 seconds left.

“They should throw the ball”

head slap

I played football growing up because I had two brothers. We always had a game going.

Moffitt is an idiot. That said I didn’t think that Newton’s comment or bemusement was sexist or offensive. He probably was amused that he was being questioned about routes by a female. The reporter should have shrugged it off
