Mr. Weinstein was a powerful gatekeeper, and was willing to open that gate to certain comely young women who wanted in. But there was an entrance fee. He made it clear to them what the price was, and they decided they were willing to pay it. No rape or coercion was involved; it was a commercial transaction.

Exactly. If it was rape, we wouldn't be hearing about it now, ten years after the fact, when it's the trending media topic. The police would have heard about it ten years ago when it happened.

Weinstein and his actresses aren't a case of a rapist and victims. They are a case of a very wealthy and powerful John and his client hookers. The only difference is that he paid them with careers in Hollywood instead of with cash. Is it sleazy? Absolutely, though that's the way Hollywood has operated for decades - Weinstein was just a little too ham-fisted in his approach. Is it felonious assault or rape? Absolutely not.

You opined: “Is it felonious assault or rape? Absolutely not.” And you are familiar with every episode? Spouting off as if you are when you are not causes one to wonder how involved in such putrefaction you are ...
