In the early 80's I lived in South Dade County, Florida. My home was just off Old Cutler Ridge Road. August was the month when the land crabs migrated. You heard the sound of their bodies being crushed under your wheels the whole way from Naranja up to Coral Gables and the stench of their dead carcasses assaulted you for several weeks.
