Mostly they can kill small dogs. Used to have them crossing main roads in daylight and breaking into cars on the Long Beach Washington peninsula.

It was irritating to come home from work and find one in your fenced back yard though.

My wife and I were vacationing in far Northern California many years ago. We were in the coastal redwoods driving down a lonely country road admiring the trees. My wife said “What are those dogs doing in the road up there?”

“Umm, dear, those aren’t dogs.”
