Maybe you could plant in bigger containers and let them grow a while longer in the pot? You probably need a heated green house. LOL

In winter and spring we have very high wind so a VERY strong greenhouse would be needed. Wind over 100 mph is not uncommon and We had two days where the max sustained wind was clocked at 118 mph each day. My neighbor had his roof blown off years ago.
