Its top speed was not revealed, but he hinted it was "above 250mph".
Fun stuff. That said, as the battery discharges it creates heat, as the temperature rises, the computer limits output; to prevent battery damage.
Therefore max output is limited to short bursts, like 0-60.

He also said it would climb from 0 to 100 mph in 4.2 seconds And on the 405 freeway, you'll still be in bumper-to-bumper traffic going 5 mph for 2 hours.

It's downright spooky how stupid the Left is. They honestly do not understand that while cars are a luxury, limited to the wealthy, in Eurostan, they are a requirement, here in the Land of the Semi-Free.
Point A: has anyone priced a set of "99Y" speed rated tires? Figure about $1500+, each.
Point B: How many amps would it take to enable ALL the cars you see on the road, this morning, to recharge, overnight?
Point C: You put the spurs to it, and the rear end is going to break away. Saw it the other day when a pickup swapped ends trying to get on the interstate, and she shortened the wheelbase by about of foot when the tires caught and she stuck it into the barrier...

Forget the speed. If he can really get a 600+ mile range out of an electric vehicle that's a genuine breakthrough.
The whole point of "supercars" is not to be sold but as technology demonstrators. Battery life is the key limiting factor for electric vehicles taking over.
