I have a 1911 that Dad picked p in the AF in the early ‘50s - manufactured in 1914 in the Springfield Armory and still a sweet shooting weapon.
Probaby not possible for someone living on LI NY.
Of course... for how much? One or two at a bargain price would be nice.
I have got a 1903, M1917, Garand and M1 carbine from CMP and been pleased with all of them.
I would consider one of these 1911’s but would have to assume it would need a new barrel, extractor, springs etc... As they all pretty much would be worn out. So out $500 off the bat plus another couple hundred, don’t know when I can get a functioning 1911 at that price and new.
CMP inspects them for anything that would be a safety issue. So if the barrel is worn a bit one would just have to see how it behaves on the range. Service 1911s with wear are often great about not jamming even if they are tough to get five hits out of five at a big ole man-size silhouette target at 50 yards.
Booo-yah!!!
Spot on, brother!!!!!!!!
