Same here, brother.

Always loved “Ol’ Slabsides”... First handgun I ever learned to shoot.

I’ve got a Springfield Armory M1911A1 “GI Issue” from the late 80s, but the safe has a bare spot where a vintage WWI or WWII piece would sit perfectly...

That space must be filled... it’s a moral imperative.

A 1911 was the second pistol I learned to shoot. It was a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match. It is a very accurate gun and I still have it after about 35 years.
