“So are you saying that people with lower abstraction capacity would do better in work with concrete skills like plumbing, masonry, carpentry, trucking, nursing, etc.”

Yes, Peterson is basically saying that. And he is pointing out that people with lower abstraction levels will be happier and more productive in careers that suit their inherent capabilities. He also reinforces the idea that individuals should pursue the highest ideal of virtue in whatever techne they choose in a career; and we as a culture need to get away from our assumption that high IQ equals morality.

Some of the most immoral and amoral people I know have high IQs.

And all I think of is the German physicians who, in the thirties, killed the mentally and physically handicapped adults and children.

We need to reject liberals’ branding altogether. That if you’re liberal, you are by definition smart, educated and moral.

I’ve had liberal idiots tell me how I seemed smart until I said I was conservative. Uh, you’ve got a social justice degree, I have a degree in engineering. My degree is far harder, and I don’t care if you have a master’s in X, I am more intelligent than you.

The framing of liberal as “educated” is bad for society because liberals use that very definition to justify infecting K-college with liberal indoctrination. It is immoral to them for parents to teach their kids their politics or faith, you should let them decide as adults. But liberals think they should be telling pre-schoolers about liberal sexual politics and repeat it through 12th grade. That’s not proselytizing to them, that’s “education”.
Their ignorance of their own biases is a sin.
