I always thought that too. Sounds just like polka, and easy to dance a polka to it. A lot better than rap anyway. A lot of Czech and Germans settled in Texas in the 1850s and Mexicans adapted the European culture!

It should be noted that National Polka Festival is held a each year in Ennis, Texas. Texas has the largest concentration of people in of Czech descent in North America.

Mexico was Colonized by the Spanish hundreds of years ago.
There are Spanish Mexicans and there are Native Mexicans.
The Spanish Mexicans have complete disdain for the Natives and are happy to see them “migrate” to the US.
The Native Mexicans are easily identified by how they look and their smaller stature.
The ruling class in Mexico is run by Spaniards.

I worked with a guy that was highly educated, came from a well connected wealthy family and looked like an average white guy with maybe a little Spanish decent.
He was a Mexican.
He left the US only to be kidnapped in Mexico City by a bunch of “Locals”. He was tied up, blindfolded and driven around for 4 days extracting the maximum daily withdrawal’s from his ATM card.
The entire time he tried to tell them that he’s NOT an American.
Eventually, they just let him go.
I knew him before and after that event and he shared the social class structure that exists in Mexico.
