My guess is, the earth is emitting a hum in response to electrical energy put out by the sun.

Keep in mind that we are spinning.
The core is spinning at a different rate than the crust.
The solar system is spinning.
The Milky Way Galaxy is spinning.

I hear a hum in my ears 24/7 for over twenty years.
When I meditate, the frequency of the hum changes as my consciousness changes frequency.
