Venting: Alabama
Me | 12/12/2017 | Me

Posted on 12/12/2017 8:53:19 PM PST by MountainWalker

Let me say I am extremely disappointed in the loss tonight. I would have stuck with Strange in the primary, but I would have voted for Moore if I lived in Alabama. This is a double loss since Sessions has been such a lousy AG and set the table for this Mueller witch hunt but would have been a reliable Senate vote.

I wish people would understand that the difference between glory and destruction with high risk candidates is pretty slim even in Alabama. The media is the enemy - the communication wing of the DNC and will sabotage R candidates or run interference for D's as the situation requires. How many people know Senator Menendez is a pedophile? How bad does a Senator Strange sound tonight?

Let's not kid ourselves: Moore lost this seat. If any Democrat gave as tepid a response to the pedo charges leveled at him, we'd be all over him. He was stupid, selfish and reckless to have run with this is his past, and the media deliberately waited to expose him until he was locked onto the ballot. They tried to do the same to Trump with the Access Hollywood tape, waiting until well after Trump clinched the nomination but it backfired ultimately because of Trump's dynamism and the weakness of the charges once you get past the crassness of the remark. Still, Trump only won by about 80k votes across some key states.

This country is teetering on the abyss if it's not already fallen into it and we just haven't realized it yet. We need bulletproof candidates because the media is gunning for our guys while they bury stories for any Democrats whose seats might get filled by Republicans, either at the ballot box or appointed by Republican governor. This is the battlefield we have to operate in, and there's nothing we can do about that but not make unforced errors with lousy candidate quality control.

jones will ultimately live to wish he had never heard of the us senate. AL residents won’t sit idly by and watch a health care hijacking, baby killing, charles schumer fondling a$$hat obstruct the agenda of a president that they overwhelmingly elected just a year ago.

besides, jones is a huge wuss. I’m sure trump can browbeat him into submission.

They’ll just put Jones on the most irrelevant committee. He’ll be an afterthought.

I’m not the one that just declared war on a good portion of the planet. that’s arrogant, thank you very much.

Judge Moore, I am sure, has accomplished more in life than either of us. Why call him a weirdo?

And Trump supported Moore over Jones. McConnell did not.

Case closed.

As for the rest of your name calling...I'll just let it go.

you’re chasing phantoms. if we had nominated the guy trump endorsed, we’d still +2 in the senate. right this minute. period. end of story.

dragging dopey mitch mconnell into a situation we should have never been in to begin with just because he’s everyone’s favorite whipping boy is . . . unproductive, and somewhat dishonest.

Do not vote for any Republican until McConnell resigns.

You think the Republicans will hold the majority in 2018?

apparently, a lot of that depends on how many more bannon candidates we nominate for the midterms. because those freaking guys turn red states blue.

How many military votes uncounted?

Entirely separate question How do around 700,000 more votes that were for Trump disappear here?

The numbers in the Senate facing reelection in 2018 heavily favor the Republicans so am not worried about losing the Senate but more worried about losing an opportunity to make large gains there. But who are the challengers?
One wonders what the Democrats will try to run on though.
Assuming the tax cuts are taken care of successfully in conference and the economy and consumer confidence continues to grow like it has since shortly after President Trump was elected, there is little they can run on. If they are seen as obstructionists, that will not sell. Must have good turnout regardless.

Nonsense.

It’s the opposite.

The congress wasn’t won until the Tea Party came around.

It wasn’t Mitch and Rove.

But I like that you are already spinning your loss. Lol.

What an idiotic response to a straight forward question.

So you believe him a pedo - got it.

I remember you now, you vomited all over every thread about Moore with your juvenile commentary about how dating a girl so young meant he belonged in the same camp as pedos.

You’re goofy

President Trump might disagree with you.

The apparent purpose of the GOP-e is to kill conservative and populist candidacies in the cradle. They have sabotaged more non-swamp GOP nominees than the left has defeated.

It's OK if you are comfortable with the swamp. You have defended them all night. Many of us are sick and tired of what we have seen and hope for more aggressive leadership.

tell you what. you do your “war” on whatever, and just don’t sweat the rest.

I’m sure you not voting for another republican until dopey turtle is gone will turn everything around in a week or two. honestly. knock yourself out.

but I’m not going to debate with you over an established fact; that bannon cost us a senate seat tonight, and DJT tried to warn us about it, and we need to be smarter about who we listen to in the primaries in the midterms.

nothing further need be said
