Sessions should have stayed in the Senate. We need a bulldog for attorney general, not a petunia.

I read the report. I must have missed the part where president Trump partly blamed sessions.

A lesson learned for GOP Presidents going forward: Do NOT pluck a GOP Senator for a cabinet position, no matter how “safe” that seat appears to be. Senators are not natural leaders anyway. There’s plenty of talent out there to choose from, aside from people in the legislative branch.

You're right. The story says he partly blames Sessions, but includes no quote or statement to bolster the claim.

his departure from the Senate to lead the Justice Department necessitated the race.

And who asked him to leave the Senate and lead the Justice Department?

The buck stops WHERE?

There are a whole bunch of things to blame Sessions for.

Sessions, of course, would not have left the Senate if Trump hadn’t made him AG.

He was early behind Trump and so obviously helpful in Trump’s being elected.

But what a disappointment.

Stephen Miller however did come from Sessions’s office—and he of course has been superb.

Excuse me. Who's fault is it? Who nominated Mr. Sessions? There would have been no special election had Trump not nominated Sessions.

Can this cat take responsibility for anything?

Jeff sessions didn’t take himself to the attorney general. Trump did that.

Freepers agree that the upper level FBI and DOJ have been corrupted, however
they clammer for Sessions to instruct DOJ to prosecute based on FBI’s investigation...

This level of cognitive dissonance should hurt.

According to cognitive dissonance theory, there is a tendency for individuals to seek consistency among their cognitions (i.e., beliefs, opinions). When there is an inconsistency between attitudes or behaviors (dissonance), something must change to eliminate the dissonance.

While the article is misleading and probably “fake” the concept is important. I seriously doubt Trump picked sessions name without having meetings and discussion on the AG appointment. What did Sessions promise? It must have been pretty important for him to leave the Senate with all his Seniority.

Even if no promises were made, Sessions has been a complete failure. Who cares what SCOTUS Cases he has worked on. Any AG could do that. He has been on the wrong side of many issues. He has no guts. He clealry hurt trump with his “recusals”. His outright statements that he would not charge Hillary. His one sided blunders of judgement in the Bundy v. BLM Case. The only thing that can be said is “we are not sure what he is doing and either are you”.

There may be many things Sessions has done that we are unaware of. Withholding these matters is why we are in this predicament in the first place.

Jeff was asked to step in as a write-in candidate to save the seat, he refused.

Trump endorsed Stange over Mo Brooks at McConnell’s urging. Trump and McConnell must share the blame. And then McConnell and the GOPe abandoned Moore over BS allegations.
