I attribute my family dodging those bullets to the complete absence of any television or modern cable programming. The only movies they watched were ones selected by mother or I after careful screening.
In addition, no one got a cell phone, basic model (no smart phones) until they were sixteen. They could text or call, that was it. They got email addresses the year prior to leaving for college or whatever they decided. So far, no major incidents or massive changes in self identity

Did all this, it didn’t help. Have one who is a girl who thinks she is a boy. Mental illness is a terrible thing.
