If watching Mad Men were my full-time job (and what a job that would be), I would only need to dedicate 9.1 eight-hour working days to completing the task. Same with Game of Thrones, as it stands 9.1 working days, less than two working weeks, before the job was done, signed off, go home and put your feet up. The company AT&T has released a streaming consumption calculator, which informs you with casual cruelty how much of your life you have dedicated to watching your favourite TV shows, in terms of data and time. (Obviously not at all motivated by a need to remind customers of how vital their internet services are at a time when US net neutrality has been repealed and many experts agree that prices are likely to rise.) Parks and Recreation, which I did watch with a workmanlike commitment, would only take 5.8 working days; Sherlock, with its short seasons and self-contained episodes, would see you out of there in just 2.2 days. Plenty of time for a long weekend at the seaside before you had to get back to start Breaking Bad.
Surely this is a glass-half-full-or-empty situation for viewers. I came across the calculator on BuzzFeed, which ran the story under the headline, Heres a Calculator That Tells You How Long It Takes You to Watch An Entire TV Series, and, TBH, Im Judging Myself, and I fully expected to walk away judging myself, TBH, too. For some, to see time given up like this laid out with such clinical precision will be horrifying, and I empathise. In this era of busy lives being seen as a status symbol when were expected to reply to the question how are you? with talk about how much work were doing

Games of Thrones is an Apple APP?
I haven’t spent even 9.1 minutes on Game of Thrones..... never watched it.
Time spent doing anything that I choose to do is what makes my life mine.
It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks of it.
I spent waaaay more time reading the 5 GoT books twice then I’ve spent watching the TV series, however, I very much enjoyed both of these choices.
The only way it becomes a waste in my mind is if the stupid, fat, lazy, liberal bastard doesn’t finish writing the last two books, which I think is what will happen.
Never saw it. I’s the 9.1 months of the N Thug L that I want back.
Thats nothing, i recorded every single Mythbusters the last week or so.
We Freepers and lurkers need a Freeper calculator to tell us how much of our lives are spent on FR.
My family loved it......my youngest had to have his eyes and ears covered a bit the first few gratuitous gay crap years
It and sopranos best ever
Breaking Bad just didn’t do it for me...sorry
Still have my 9.1 days, never watched it.
The trailer is 6 minutes long. Pretty good show.
The next season will be in the spring of 2019 and will consist of one episode, in which the Night King leads the Walkers and Wights to the south and destroys all mankind.
The clock still kept ticking so you were doing something. Any series is on for a limited time in a week and a limited amount of weeks in a year. I spend a lot more time watching Tucker Carlson than any tv series.
The Simpsons would take 10.8 days... ;-p
You can do needlepoint at the same time.
It is excellent!

Sopranos the best. Know what I’m sayin’ here? You don’t like it I’ll send Paulie Walnuts and Furio to pay you a visit. Unna stand?
