HLN's Ashleigh Banfield has hit back at journalist Katie Way, after the Babe.net reporter wrote an insulting email about the host. Banfield, 50, read the letter Way wrote, which included ageist language stating 'nobody under the age of 45 has heard of,' her during Tuesday's Crime & Justice.

Not only a “feminist” war but an “ageist” contest to boot.
It goes on here all the time. Male freepers have often called me and others old, Ma Kettle, etc. for disagreeing with them. One genius recently told me to make him a sandwich which got him kicked off for a couple of months (sorry he ever came back - he appears to be up to his old tricks again).
That women do it too is no surprise either.
The Gen-Xers are particularly obnoxious in this regard, thinking they know it all. Obama being a prime example.
They really are awful!
Do I get a prize for never having heard of any of the people mentioned?
She was high profile for awhile. If you are 44 years old, it would make you 26 when she was hired by MSNBC...just in time for Bush v. Gore.
The real question is, does anybody that old remember her work, which was really half way decent. Plus she is real easy on the eyes.
I do remember her running around New York City with her head exploding, asking people what they think of not having a president during Bush\Gore recount.

Good question. I’m over 45 and have never heard of Way, Banfield, or Ansari. Seems to me like a very small tempest in a tiny teapot.
But it is fun to read about it!

Imus had a woman do a great impression of Banfield. “There’s the hot dog man! Hi, hot dog man!”
I was impressed that she was down there in the hot zone.
