... her doctors conducted surgery to remove a 4 cm piece – more than 50% — of her baby’s skull, which was cutting into her uterus and causing health issues. After multiple efforts to remove the fragment resulted in a uterine perforation, a hysterectomy was performed.

Perhaps the jury reasoned that "her doctors" were even more incompetent. Or, perhaps they were unsympathetic toward someone who procured an abortion at 25 weeks, and they didn't wish her to financially profit.

Still it was a chance to put this doctor and others like him out of business! The jury should have jumped at it! I would have.
