Years ago when Theo van Gogh was murdered in Holland the far right and far left joined forces against Islam; both proclaimed (for their own reasons) that Islam had no place in Dutch culture. I remember flamboyant gay politician Pim Fortuyn broke the mold with his intolerance of Islam.
