Nothing like being yanked from a plane to instill a little “negative feedback” for your actions.

The wife and I were on a flight once. We were already seated, near the rear of the plane, when a mother with her infant and the infant’s grandmother boarded the plane and sat down a couple of rows ahead of us.

The grandmother stood up, before we began to taxi, and handed out “goodie” bags to everyone sitting within four or five rows of the baby. The goodie bags contained ear plugs, candy, gum, etc. and a note. The note was written as if coming from the baby. It apologized in advance for any crying and asked for patience.

That gesture went a long way to making the flight, with the baby, more trouble and aggravation free.

... handed out “goodie” bags ...

While flying back on a business trip I was seated in the middle section next to a family with two young kids. I must have looked as if I was dreading the flight... the husband got my attention and handed me a couple coupons for a free drink on the plane.

As it ended up the kids were well behaved and I arrived home in a good mood.
