The point is not whether or not he is, the point is he died. This obsession with faggery is not suitable when people want to discuss someones career.
Relax.
He was GAY. That is a fact that he was comfortable with. When he came out in 2009 he did so because he didn’t want anyone he was associated with to feel as if they had to keep a secret for him.
I enjoyed MASH and still watch some reruns. His character was one of my favorites.
