(excerpt from the Video link)

As part of the research for my Crouching Tiger book on the rise of China’s military and its companion documentary film, I interviewed 35 of the top experts in the world from all sides of the China issue. These are key edited excerpts from my sit-down at the University of Chicago with Professor John Mearsheimer, author of the realist classic work The Tragedy of Great Power Politics.

"My argument, in a nutshell, is that if China continues to grow economically over the next 30 years, much the way it has over the past 30 years, that it will translate that wealth into military might. And it will try to dominate Asia, the way the United States dominates the Western Hemisphere. And my argument is that this makes good strategic sense for China. Of course, the United States will not allow that to happen if it can. And the United States will, therefore, form a balancing coalition in Asia, which will include most of China's neighbors and the United States. And they will work overtime to try to contain China and prevent it from dominating Asia. This will lead to a very intense security competition between the United States and China's neighbors on one hand, and China on the other hand. And there will be an ever-present danger of war. "

I do not know what to make of the author’s warnings.

But I am concerned.

China has for many years, run completely over America in every trade issue in the entire world.

Every one. They have nationalized entire industries. Trump is the VERY FIRST president who gets this.

I agree with him. And I support him.

I have supported the guy, since before he even threw his hat in the ring. And I think he is 100%, completely on the right message about China.

Be strong Trump.

It is ABOUT TIME we stood up for American interests.

For real. Both parties, have been selling America down the river in global trade, for the entire last generation and a half.

I notice an important term missing from this synopsis
Russia
Pity “we” are so fixated on preserving the Cold War and keeping Russia as Enemy #1 to the detriment of forging a mutual relationship regarding Chinese expansionism
Half of Asia is.. Russia

why cant Russia and China figure out who is going to dominate Asia without US contribution to that cause?

I have no interest to be in that game.

I want out of the Middle East and the various stans.

These people are fine at taking care of their own business without the US involved.

Standing up for American Trade issues is very different than getting involved in Asia’s geopolitics.

UNLESS we are determined to get and use a slice of their slave workers.

China is beginning to confront issues — the middle income trap, corruption, single party rule, a lack of rule of law, and demographic graying — that will constrain her economic and military rise. And China’s diplomatic manners tend toward the kind of heavy-handedness that alienates neighbors and potential allies. China is a threat to the US but is unlikely to become an existential menace if we tend to our interests and keep our military in good form.
