I have been listening to The Beatles a lot lately. They had some great stuff. St Peppers and the White Album......lots of drug use around that time from listening to the lyrics. :>)
We raised our daughter (now age 31) on the classics (Beatles, Led Zep etc).
Even today, she listens often to them. I asked why "You can sing along to them and the lyrics were great!"
Yoko Ono was the cause of the Band’s break up - she totally sucked, both as a singer and a human being. Hard to believe John latched on to such a wretched woman. Then again, without Paul’s lyrical brilliance, John would have gone nowhere. Paul proved himself the master lyricist when he formed Wings.
Yeah me too. THere are a couple of movies on Netflix I’ve seen lately too.
I saw the Circque de Soliel show Love in Vegas a couple weeks ago. If you love Beatle music, you have to see it. It was an incredible show. Ive been listening to more of Channel 18 on Sirius lately, the Beatles channel. I never seem to tire of their music.
I think Abby Road is the perfect album
I particularly like the medley side
It has the polished Martin touch too
They gave him back full production control for what was basically their last album
They had a lot of good work
Even Submarine and Magical Mystery and Let it Be have high points
The Stones are the greatest rock and roll band ever
But the Beatles were the most popular in their day and more musical much of that owed to Martin
Just an opinion
We lived beatle single to single back then
