We cut the cord about 6 years ago.
Who in their right mind would keep renting a fleet of cars when only about 2 or 3 of them actually ran?
It’s really the same difference with cable/satellite packages. What I do not like is the subsidizing of channels I loath, such as CNN.

That's a great analogy. I realized I always had the TV on and was constantly ending up on Fox News because there was nothing else worth having on. And then I realized I didn't like Fox News all that much anymore.
So I cut the cord (six years now) and discovered a world of internet radio (talk and music, lots of music), reignited my love of reading and find I am more relaxed. I have a tv room for DVD watching a few nights a week. My wallet is also less stressed.
