(full article title: South Park creators receive award from progressive group and shock Hollywood audience by declaring 'We're Republicans')
They are rude, crude, and vulgar on a regular basis and I love 'em. I confess that I admire the spirit behind the creators of South Park, even though I don't watch it or record it on my DVR mostly because of time constraints, but also because the frequent vulgarity does not appeal to me. Nonetheless, their hostility toward political correctness is a breath of fresh air.
The two creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are free spirits who enjoy surprising and shocking people. (For those unfamiliar with their work, a four-minute segment from their show is embedded below.) According to Pawl Bazile, writing on Milo Yiannopoulos's site Dangerous:
Last week Trey Parker and Matt Stone sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry by announcing at an awards ceremony, "we're republicans."
The South Park creative powerhouses were receiving a "Freedom" award from People for the American Way and needed to reaffirm in front of the audience of high profile entertainment insiders, "No seriously, we're republicans," after the audience became uncomfortably chuckled [sic] at the concept of right wingers among them. Larry Elder tweeted about the crowd's reaction saying:
"Trey Parker & Matt Stone of @SouthPark asked me to introduce them when they received a "freedom" award from Norman Lear's organization. After they graciously accepted, they said, "We're republicans." Nervous laughter. They repeated, "No, seriously, we're republicans."#Priceless

"NO, Seriously. We're Republicans."
Beautiful. And nobody in that audience dares take them on because they know the response they’ll see in the next episode.
I wish they would have said conservative as “Republican” is pretty much the same as saying “Democrap” today.
My thoughts exactly. However, there are exceptional republicans still standing, e.g. Nunes, Jordan, etc.
The creator of Beavis and Butthead stopped producing episodes because he had a Damascus moment where he realized he was contributing to the decay of American civilization.
None of this is a surprise to anyone who is paying attention.
Parker and Stone have been lambasting BOTH sides for 20 years, but they’ve been unwavering in their distaste for the liberal idiocy they harangue.
That is Mika and Joe.
Beavis and Butthead have a strange allure where at times they are so degenerate they are almost funny, like Myers and Carvey in Wayne's world.
So stupid it's funny. Whereas Mika and Joe are never funny, they are disgusting.
There was a book called South Park Republicans about people like them.I think it quoted one of them saying, “We hate conservatives but we really f-—ing hate liberals.” A South Park episode was described where the kids actually defend corporations (when “Harbucks” comes to town, one kid said corporations are good and they “give us everything from cars to computers to canned soup”).
Their Team America movie skewered liberals and Hollywood lefties. As a result some liberals who were South Park fans responded, “not cool, dudes..we liked South Park but this is bad...”
Then Hollyweird idiots are the stupidest people in the world
If they ever watched South Park they would realize at a minimum the guys ain’t democrat or progressive
But the guys know that saying they are Republicans to the group is a huge turd in the punch bowl
I always suspected as much.

(1) Why isn't "republicans" capitalized here? (I associate the lowercase form with citizens of monarchies who would prefer their countries to be republics.)
(2) Had they instead announced their transgenderism and then French-kissed each other, they would've received thunderous applause.
They may vote R, but their politics are small L libertarians a la Ron Paul. They clearly don’t like Trump either.
