Toothless IG

Why do you call Horowitz a "toothless" IG? Horowitz was stonewalled for years by AGs Holder and Lynch -- until Rep. Jason Chaffetz pushed through the Inspector General Empowerment Act of 2016 to codify Horowitz's authority to compel production of documents. H.R.6450 was introduced 12/7/16, passed by House 12/8/16, passed by Senate 12/10/16, signed by Obama and became law 12/16/16. That's when the dam of information broke, and IG Horowitz struck paydirt.

If by "toothless" you mean that IG Horowitz can only investigate but cannot indict, that was remedied by AG Sessions's assignment of a federal prosecutor to work with the OIG. That is "teeth."

“I knew that before making an exception to my general rule.”

That’s cool. I’m pretty sure it’s no secret that I do not like him.

As far as Trump appointing Huber though, sadly trump has not been all that effective in his nominations, but I don’t know if that is his fault or not. The pool of potential people to choose from seems relatively awful and quite foul.

Seems like a heckuva difficult task to food good, trustworthy people to work in government.

Lisa Page isn’t qualified to dump my trash. Why does she have a job?

Lisa Page's salary, like Peter Strzok's, is a cheap investment to keep them under the IG's microscope. They still have to report for meaningless tasks every day, limiting their opportunities to make trouble as they sit in government offices using government computers and phones. They are small players who will be swept up in due time, but they are not the main targets.

And a Trump nominee, appointee.

Sessions first appointed Huber as a temporary appointment in ~March of 2017.

It looks like Trump than nominated Huber based on Sessions judgement several months later for the "permanent" spot.

So it was Sessions who first got the Huber ball rolling.

.

IG is simply compiling a report.

His purview does not cover Rice, Powers, Brennan, Clapper, Cheryl Mills, Podesta, and tons of Obama sycophants.

All he can do is write a stern report.

Lorreta Lynch was Huber’s boss. She appointed him to special panels. That’s, blood should in the streets, Lorreta Lynch.

Designed to die.

Given what you wrote about Horowitz being stonewalled by Holder, it's ironic that Horowitz now partakes in the DOJ and FBI stonewalling of Congress.

And it's worth noting as you pointed out, that Obama did sign off on the IG Empowerment Act. Think about that.

And since you mentioned Chaffetz, it's also worth noting that Chaffetz has been complaining for many months about the DOJ and FBI stonewalling Congress. Add to that Chaffetz doesn't want the DOJ and the FBI investigating itself.

I always thought of him as a RINO, but had no idea he was so compromised by the Deep State before.

Sessions is Huber’s boss. The IG and Huber are not investigating anything related to Trump-Russia. They are looking into everything else within the DoJ and FBI; and there is plenty.

Sessions has said Huber has full prosecutorial powers. Any action by Rosenstein to interfere with Huber’s action would be obstruction of justice.

Rosenstein is in the loop only on the Trump investigation. That’s it. Huber reports directly to Sessions on the DoJ/FBI corruption.

I thought Trump had asked for and gotten this guy’s resignation then re-nominated him for his current position. Perhaps he’s getting a chance to show he deserves the position.

(For the legal folks among us) ... What would be the difference between this “kind” of a prosecutor and a “Special Prosecutor?” Thank you.

“How is it okay for the DOJ to be investigating itself?”

That’s what IG’s do by act of congress...it’s all internal.

Sessions can still pound sand.

Why is Comey running around signing books when he admitted to have leaked classified information? Why is the whole Clinton and Obama cabal still wearing anything other than jailhouse tuxedos?

Because Sessions is not really interested. We want to see arrests, trials, convictions, sentences, and incarcerations.

Little Jeffey goes shuffling along.

“I had my doubts about Sessions but if somebody would just think for a moment with all of these movements going on the past several months..”

Thinking is not exactly faring well here among some of our FRiends.

“I do not owe Jeff Sessions, sh!t.”

The Hon. AG Jeff Sessions is doing the job right for all Americans.
He’s going to do it no matter how many ignorant attacks he faces.

He’s a great American patriot. Always was.
