Well, that is pretty much true. In a typical year in the US, 2 or 3 times as many people will be stabbed to death as will be murdered with rifles. So, maybe knives aren't "weapons of mass destruction", but they are a lot deadlier than rifles. I'm not in favor of banning anything, but if you are gonna ban something, it would make more sense to start with knives rather than rifles.
