He’s SELLING disks with software MS GIVES AWAY?...........
Technically MS is saying these disks are for those who already have a licensed copy of Windows especially since, in many cases, machines ship without physical media.
The culprit may be violating the spirit of the law if not the letter of the law.
A larger question - and an increasingly frequent one - is: why are government prosecutors doing the bidding of a private company? MS can bring a civil suit if it wishes.
The article erroneously says ‘MS filed criminal charges.’ No, only the DA/prosecutor/government can do that. MS can file a criminal complaint but the charges are not up to them. Which means, as usual, the courts are for sale to the highest bidder.
