Knew a guy who owned a lime green AMC Gremiln. That was one butt-ugly car!

When I was a teenager, we lived in an apartment complex. Our next door neighbor had a lime-green Gremlin. My dad had a bronze/copper Lincoln, made before those were downsized. A car uphill from us in the parking lot slipped out of gear, rolled down the hill, and hit the Lincoln. Our neighbor said, “Oh, thank goodness it did not hit the Gremlin!” We got a kick out of it, except for the damage to our car. That lime green thing was a monstrosity.

My Gremlin was blue. And it was NOT butt ugly. Because it had no butt.

It essentially was an AMC Hornet with no rear end. I liked it.

I owned a Green Hornet. Not lime green though and I do remember AMC’s lime green.

My bro had a Gremlin.

It was a 3 speed. Getting up to freeway speeds required careful planning.

When he got several parking tickets he realized they were for more than the car was worth, so he stopped paying the meter for a while and effectively gifted his Gremlin to the City of SF.
