You’re absolutely right. I rented a car and couldn’t even back out of a driveway. Totally blind.

Modern cars have so many blind spots that a rear view camera has become necessary. I think you have the cart before the horse. The availability of rearview cameras has allowed and encouraged designers to make cars with truly atrocious sight lines.
