Just compare the length and girth of the fish to the angler, who looks like he might weigh close to 300 pounds.

Huge fish. Biggest I have reported down here,the Keys, in years was 500 lbs.and those are rare.

Looks like they fish about the same depths as we do 1,600-1,800 feet on the bottom.Sometimes we used up to three drops but they get tangled so bad most have cut back to two or even a single bait.
We use 6-10 lbs. of weight,lead,concrete,whatever, to hold bottom depending on line test and current.
