I’m glad he caught it before it got into the lake!

(I’m guessing I’m missing something in the translation?)

769 lbs. That’s a lot of swordfish steaks.

Yikes!

That's ~770 pounds of fish!

...and I'm pleased with myself when I catch a 7.7 pound bass... '-)

Oh, brother. They’ll probably claim it’s due to global warming.

That’s a record with 100 lb line. Pretty amazing.

Kind of a shame to kill it as Swordfish are not terribly plentiful around U.S. shores. I realize Australia may be different.

760 pounds?

Very hard to believe that.

Just compare the length and girth of the fish to the angler, who looks like he might weigh close to 300 pounds.

Is Aussie swordfish bigger than Florida swordfish?

Looks like they fish about the same depths as we do 1,600-1,800 feet on the bottom.Sometimes we used up to three drops but they get tangled so bad most have cut back to two or even a single bait.
We use 6-10 lbs. of weight, lead, concrete, whatever, to hold bottom depending on line test and current.
