Please translate to English. Thank you.
Damn. I was going to head down there if you did. (grin)
Sounds really nice.
Something to do with the soil or some such. No one has ever explained it to me. Be nice to have a basement in case of tornados.
And Depart Justice!
It seems to me that deep blue places like NYC and California are becoming like 3rd world countries in that there are the ultra rich, the ultra poor, and not many in the middle.
CLOG TAX
Tax all high rise apartments 2x 3rd, 3x 4th, 4x 5th on up.
High rise clogs highways.
Highway High rise Tax.
Use remaining upper floors for storage or business.
Highways are Commons, while tall buildings are abusers.
Exemptions made for job producers.
My son is blessed. He found a very nice 1 bedroom apartment in a very nice older neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio for $450/month a couple of years ago. Around 800 sq ft. It’s a charming place! He is less than 10 minutes from Downtown Cbus.
‘I always loved California especially the weather.”
California weather is great! California culture...for the most part...is threatening, self absorbed, confused...basically it sucks.
California government (state, county, municipality)....refer to the above.
‘Incredible. Thats less than my first apartment in 1986 in New york city.’
Yep...I can hardly believe it myself. I lived in SoCal for 5 yrs. Paid $650 for a room in a 3bdrm house with a slum lord who illegally turned it into a 5bdrm house. I made $40k a year, paid $4/gal for gas, food cost was about the same. I was a White guy in a non white culture...
Here in Alabama, applications engineer. Economy is booming to the point that one wonders how the infrastructure will keep pace. Gas is $2.45. People are very friendly...you know have their personal probs but are not as a rule confrontational....until you get on the freeway (consequence of Taledega being 2 hrs away).
My advise if you hate Cali...move East young man. Tenn. Ala. SC. Just get the heck out of that looney state.
...just my opinion. Sorry if I’ve offended any SoCal jerks.
If you’re in the land of no basements in tornado territory it’s due to one of two things. Either the water table is very high making a basement impossible, or the soil is very shallow meaning a basement would have to be blasted out of bedrock.
