IF insurance companies can refuse to INSURE such dogs-—why do I have to rent to people with such dogs?
The renter has no capital investment into the property & I can be sued until I lose the property.
Welcome to the ever popular catch 22 of federal laws and the fact that insurance companies have better lobbyists than you do. The immunity that landlords are given under this law are very limited and a pretty complicated HUD system for enforcing 'under control' behavior for companion animals/service dogs.
