As I read some posts, and I kicked myself in the tail because I had deleted in my initial post a qualifier for the Poconos. Indeed, I know of many people who fled Brooklyn and other NYC areas for the Poconos because they wanted their kids to have a better life. However, they've brought many "Blue Tribe" sentiments with them - and in some cases, gangs.. So yes, not all refugees from Blue States are brethren.

I also draw a distinction beteeen "Republicans" and Deplorables. I worked in NYC for a LONG time. I met lots of Republicans but a goodly amount were strong on some areas, usually tax policy and economics, but weak on guns and illegal immigration. My guess is most of these Rockefeller Republicans voted for Hillary. As such, they are NOT Deplorables.

But in the same breath, I know first-hand many people of good stock who I would consider Deplorables who are stuck behind enemy lines. Yea, I know...you can always move. But as I said earlier, situations vary...what about the upstanding Deplorable in MA who lives in Boston because his elderly Dad refuses to become a Cowboys fan (as an Eagles fan, I can't say I'd blame the old man...)? What about the homeschooling mom who stays in NJ rather than face some bureaucrat in PA standingsin loco parentis saying her daughter should be tested on her knowledge of the ERA?

We all have our breaking points. I love the 2nd Amendment and the attendant rights so guaranteed. But I also respect that God made us as unique as a fingerprint, and I don't know what everyone's utility function looks like with regard to liberty. As such, I would applaud these American who stay behind enemy lines, doing God's work, and who knows....maybe their small, tiny Deplorablism becomes a pernicious green shoot that chokes off the blue weed of statism. After all, the majority of Americans during the revolution were either Loyalists or ambivalent.

Thanks for listening.

Everything you say was coming from my mouth. I have friends and family still behind enemy lines.

It took me 6 years to move 2 hours away. I was such a coward. I didn’t want to lose financially so instead I put my family in harm’s way. When I left it cost me hundreds of thousands in losses.

But to not take these losses was to show my family, friends and God that I put a price tag on their prosperity, and that was less than 200k.

By inaction we all prove that we have a price tag.
