I’m not so concerned about health effects of soap in food as much as about the taste it might impart. Yuk!!!

I’m of the generation were soap was used to wash out mouths of belligerent children.

I was just thinking of Ralphie in A Christmas Story. I think he was blinded by his mom making him keep a bar of soap in his mouth for swearing.

Considering they’ve removed most of the phosphates (the “rinsing” agent) from most dish detergents sold, we’re kind of doing the same thing here. I find most my dishes & utensils have an objectionable soapy smell when fresh out of the washer. I usually rinse them in water before using.
